The Report on Wireless LAN War Driving Survey 2009 invited over 10 information security experts to conduct the war driving surveys, including the Tramway War Driving and Minibus War Driving to test the Access Point (AP) in different parts of Hong Kong. Total 58,224 AP were found during the survey, which was the greatest in number throughout the years. Results showed that the public awareness in WiFi security was keep increasing. Still, public should keep update their security setting in order to prevent from the latest threats in information security.

In order to have a full picture for the WiFi usage in Hong Kong, an Estates War Driving was conducted in two housing estates in order to compare the security level for setup of the AP conducted by the residents.
